I'm an analog photographer born in Crewe, brought up in North Wales, currently living in Cardiff, South Wales. My photos are a mixture of colour and black-and-white images, expired and in-date film. As well as using various grades, speeds and ISO of film stock, I also shoot using a variety of formats, 35mm, 120, Instant, and half-frame, documenting and capturing moments in life. This being said I'm working with just a small portion of the multiplicity and variation, that film photography that can be explored, which is one of the main draws to analog photography.
I've felt a connection to photography from a young age, watching my dad take photos of scenic holiday views, beautiful flowers, and birds soaring through the sky. Brought up in North Wales, near Snowdonia, I was very lucky to say that these were in abundance. I love to explore and find new places, while always keeping an eye out for anything that captures your attention and expands your imagination.
The real challenge for myself was learning about the process, and finer details of photography. The depth to which you can delve, or limits of which you can push it. Photography is something many of us take for granted, myself included, but it’s something we all should cherish. These moments in history are captured and frozen in time with still images, moments which cannot be repeated, but can saved. We take inspiration from the things around us, the people we meet, and the places we visit, the communities we grow up in. I want to share some of my passion, my own personality, and optimism, with the world, all this while trying capture the unique, and the different, beautiful and the unusual, things we look to inspire us.
Adding to this being film, and limiting to a select number of exposures, it makes you think deeply about each shot, and that moment you're witnessing. All this being said, like most arts, photography is subjective, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to share these moments, and I can hope you like the prints/photos as much as I do.
All photos are available to purchase, so please get in touch if you're interested in buying a print.
